Most budgets live in a spreadsheet or a note on the phone and fall apart within days of payday. Rent, food, bills, transport and savings all draw on one undifferentiated balance, so the plan and the money drift apart almost immediately. Budgeting apps mostly track spending after the fact and leave every decision to the user: nobody checks whether paying this bill today leaves enough for the one due next week, and the feedback, when it comes, is a chart or a lecture after the money is already gone.

Brenda gives every part of the budget its own pocket showing what is left to spend. Setup takes about two minutes: you tell Coach your income, pay schedule and goals, it drafts the pockets, and you change anything you like. On payday Coach proposes the split and you confirm it. Coach, the AI money coach, watches bills, balances and spending pace, answers questions like whether you can afford something, and sends short nudges with a one-tap fix before a pocket runs short. Insights put spending, cash flow and budget health on one screen with month-over-month comparison; Goals track saving targets at each payday; receipts can be scanned and expenses logged in one tap; and Wrapped gives a shareable recap of where the money went. Bank accounts sync through Plaid in the US and Canada, and Nigerian accounts sync too. In Nigeria, users can optionally open a wallet held at a CBN-licensed partner bank, which turns each pocket into a real balance: add money by transfer, pay airtime, data, TV and electricity from the right pocket, auto-pay bills by rule, and send money to any Nigerian bank or another Brenda user by @tag, QR code or nearby. Brenda never holds user money and never sells data. Every payment is confirmed with a PIN and the app opens with Face ID.
